hide login username from the login screen in Fedora 18

I using Fedora 18 - Gnome 3.6.2

I have ten user accounts (created for testing purposes) i dont want the username listed or shown to anyone trying to login to my laptop.

i came across a solution updating gconf database

go to


 touch or create a file called 01.mysettings

vi 01.mysettings

update the dconf database

to install fetchmail you need root privileges

   ssl

fetchmail -v

Magento Disable Guests from writing Product Reviews

go the Catalog section in Magento System Tab and
under "Product Reviews"
set the "Allow Guests to Write Reviews" to No

by default Magento (Community 1.7.0.2) out of stock display option is not

my product name : test item

status: enabled

visible: catalog and search

[Inventory]

quantity: 5

but the stock availability: Out of Stock

in the admin panel go to the [System] tab

< Catalog > section

click the ( Inventory ) 

make the Display Out of Stock Products option to Yes

thats it done..

i wanted to remote desktop from Fedora to Windows


Machine A - Fedora 16
Machine B - Windows 7 Ultimate

 step 1: make sure users can remotely access the pc

 step 2: add the standard user to the remote desktop user group in

now go to the linux pc

make sure you have rdesktop install else

yum install rdesktop

rdesktop-1.7.0.fc16.i686 153kb size


after you successfully install it

run this command in the terminal

rdesktop 192.168.1.7 -u userone -p mypassword -f

-f to run in full screen

to switch back to linux

pres Ctrl + Alt + Return
