Status Quo "In The Army Now (2010)" (official video)
In The Army Now : Status Quo
-----------------------------
A vacation in the foreign land
Uncle Sam does the best he can
You're in the army now
Oh, oh you're in the army - now
Now you remember what the draft man said
Nothing to do all day but stay in bed
You're in the army now
Oh, oh you're in the army - now
You'll be a hero of the neighbourhood
Nobody knows that you left for good
You're in the army now
Oh, oh you're in the army - now
Smiling faces on the way to 'Nam
But once you get there no one gives a damn
You're in the army now
( From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/s/status-quo-lyrics/in-the-army-now-lyrics.html )
Oh, oh you're in the army - now
Shots ring out in the dead of night
The sergeant calls : "Stand up and fight!"
You're in the army now
Oh, oh you're in the army - now
You've got your orders to shoot on sight
your finger's on the trigger but it don't seem right
You're in the army now
Oh, oh you're in the army - now
Night is falling and you just can't see
Is this illusion or reality
You're in the army now
Oh, oh you're in the army - now

The Alan Parsons Project- Eye in the Sky
The Alan Parsons Project- Eye in the Sky Album:Eye in the Sky (1982)
Don't think sorry's easily said
Don't try turning tables instead
Youv'e taken lots of chances before
But I'm not gonna give anymore
Don't ask me
That's how it goes
Cause part of me knows what youre thinkin
Don't say words youre gonna regret
Don't let the fire rush to your head
Ive heard the accusation before
And I ain't gonna take any more
Believe me
The sun in your eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing
Chorus:
I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I dont need to see any more
To know that
I can read your mind, I can read your mind
Dont leave false illusions behind
Dont cry cause I aint changing my mind
So find another fool like before
Cause I aint gonna live anymore believing
Some of the lies while all of the signs are deceiving
"Eye in the Sky" is a 1982 song by the Alan Parsons Project from the album Eye in the Sky.
Possibly the most successful song the group has ever had, it hit #3 on the Billboard charts in the United States in October 1982 and #1 in Canada and #6 in New Zealand. Says Parsons of the song, "...I hated the song when we first started recording it — I was quite ready to drop it altogether. Then we hit upon the hypnotic guitar chugs and it all came together." However, it did not fare as well in the UK.
The song is in part a reference to George Orwell's classic novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, regarding a possible future in which individual privacy is virtually non-existent due to the ever-watching eye of Big Brother. In the novel, citizens are constantly monitored by hidden video recording equipment.
It has also been noted by Eric Woolfson, the songwriter and vocalist of this song, spent a lot of time in casinos and in commercial districts, fascinated by the hidden security cameras that monitor gamblers and shoppers, hence the theme of the song. See "Eye in the Sky."
The 1:54 minute instrumental piece entitled "Sirius" immediately precedes "Eye in the Sky"' on the original recording, which then seamlessly leads into "Eye in the Sky" as a second track. However, most radio stations choose to play "Eye in the Sky" alone, due to time constraints.
"Sirius" has been used as the intro for Chicago Bulls home games for many seasons and intermittently for many other NBA basketball teams for decades. For a period of time "Sirius" was also the opening theme for the National Wrestling Alliance on TBS weekly television show.
Reports surfaced in November 2010 that Lady Antebellum's single "Need You Now" has the same melody as "Eye In The Sky".
